Our Patients Speak...

"Having been a high school varsity head coach for 33 years, I have seen many injuries and many great sports medicine professionals. I am a great believer in multiple treatments for injuries. By using muscle-stim, massage, and chiropractic manipulation, there is not only quicker recovery, but a better chance of not being re-injured.
While lifting weights, I strained a shoulder muscle and had a stiffness in my neck. I was in great pain, and because I could not look over my left shoulder, I had a difficult time driving. I then met Dr. Elena Olcott and Southlake Spine and Sports. After settting up a series of treatments, I am pleased to say that I am pain-free and am again able to do the things that I want to do.
Dr. Elena and her associates are very experienced, with not only fit athletes, but the weekend warriors as well."

"Dr. Elena... Just wanted to drop you a note on what your work has done for me this week. So far, I?ve played in 2 of 3 events capturing 3rd and 2nd place respectively, largely due to the flexibility and finesse I?ve been able to obtain from your care.
In the 2nd event, which was a charity function, some old golf buddies of mine couldn?t get over how far and accurately I was hitting my drives?hitting them some 50-80 yards past them on average. While they were losing a little yardage, I gained some 30 yards on top of what I used to do up here in Chicago.
It really means a lot to play with these guys and here them swoon over this stuff. These are guys I grew up with. I owe you so much just to be able to have an opportunity to do this again."

"As a 15 year-old high school cheerleader, I was not supposed to be suffering from back pain. After being involved in a very serious accident several years earlier I found it hard to participate in many of the high level activities involved in such a competitive sport as cheerleading. Not only was my back pain interfering with my valued extracurricular activities, but also with my day-to-day routine. I found it extremely uncomfortable to sit for long periods of time, as is required in each and every school day.
I sought help from my doctor who wrote me a prescription for physical therapy. After six months of intensive physical therapy 2-3 times a week the pain had lessened considerably and yet after a short period of time after finishing my treatment and being released, my discomfort levels returned.
Finally, my mom got the name of a good Chiropractor from a friend. We decided to go in for a visit and see if there was anything she could do to help me. On my first visit, after a series of x-rays, Dr. Olcott was able to pinpoint all the sources of pain and recommend a treatment plan that would not only relieve the pain quickly, but also lead me to a corrective treatment that would prevent serious pain and injuries on down the line.
I consider myself extremely blessed and lucky to be among the growing number of people who have realized and experienced the miracles involved in chiropractic care. Whether you suffer from back pain, weak knees or ankles, asthma, or migraines, you will most likely find care, comfort and an eagerness to help from a Chiropractor.
I would like to thank Dr. Olcott for everything she has done for me and all the kindness, caring and understanding. I know I can always count on her."

"I just want to thank Dr. Morris for all of her time and effort with helping me recover from my shoulder injuries. If she had never been there, I might still be looking up more specialists who would all say that I just need to rest, instead of helping me do something about the problem.
She has done so much for me, and I wonder if I will ever be able to repay her. Her experience and expertise helped me regain hope when I thought I might never get better. She not only showed me what I needed to do, but also explained why and how. While other specialists I had been to simply told me I should stop swimming or take a break, she told me not to give up. When I wanted her opinion about alternatives to swimming, she told me all the pros and cons, as well as what I would need to do to get in shape for them. She inspired me to try new things while I waited for my injuries to heal so I could swim again.
All in all, I couldn?t have gotten through my injuries without her help, and I owe her greatly for it. Her time and effort spent helping me recover from my shoulder injuries is wholly appreciated, so thank you, Dr. Morris, for everything!"

"I have known Dr. Morris for the better part of 4 years. She has been a volunteer doctor for our varsity basketball team at Dublin High School. It is my pleasure to write this letter of support for Dr. Morris in the hope that it will enhance her opportunity for advancement in the sports medicine field.
I have been the women?s varsity basketball coach for the past 2 years. During that time, Dr. Morris has attended every one of our games and conducted our preseason physicals. This past season, Dr. Morris?s efforts were quite commendable and her services were needed more than ever.
It was one of those years when most of our players were ?dinged up? but none were seriously injured. Dr. Tara was treating a host of injuries before and during each game. For about 20 consecutive games she had to get my girls ready to play. There were several injuries involving bruised ribs. There was a strained neck and back problem. There was a twisted knee. There was a broken nose. And there were the usual sprained ankles and jammed fingers that seem to accompany a basketball campaign. Now my girls play hard and they realize that they are going to have to play injured at times. I never had to worry about my complete team not being able to take the court; I knew that Dr. Tara would get them ready to play. Each game she showed up early and the girls would line up; none of these interactions ever involved my involvement as I was able to focus on game preparation and coaching. It was a perfect arrangement. Naturally, there were the injuries during the game. And again, Dr. Tara was completely involved with attending to any injured player, allowing me the opportunity to focus on the game. I know that Dr. Tara?s perspective was to assess injuries for seriousness and then to determine if the player could reasonably return to action. She always was able to put the players back on the court.
But the services that she offered were more than mere medical emergency actions. Dr. Tara had made valid connections with each player on the team, and each player was quite appreciative of her efforts as a physician and her genuine care for them as a person. Her efforts this past season were more than commendable. She wove herself into the fabric of the team and became a viable member of our basketball family. I am extremely indebted to her and now realize how a trainer/doctor can contribute to a team?s success. In all sincerity, I give Dr. Tara Morris my highest recommendation."

"I am very pleased to be asked to tell you about Dr. Tara Morris, who has volunteered her time to Dublin High School Athletics for the past 5 years. As the athletic director at Dublin HS, I have had the pleasure of working with her as she volunteered her medical services for many teams at Dublin HS.
Her level of articulation has impressed me with our staff, parents and students, regarding such sensitive issues as sports-induced injuries. Dr. Tara has spent 3 years with the swim program and the last 5 years with the girls basketball program, and recently aided with the newly lacrosse program.
In addition to the years of service of Dublin HS, Dr. Tara has displayed great enthusiasm and initiative; she has excellent communication skills and has a very friendly and outgoing personality. Her flexibility and commitment to the success of our athletes has made her an invaluable asset to the athletic department at Dublin HS."
